Lip Piercing, Belly Piercing, Nose Piercing, Tongue Piercings and more.. (Non Ear Stretching)

Hey guys,

Does anyone know anything about dermal conch punches ? Pain, healing times etc?

I'm thinking about getting this done but trying to find out more first.

I've read somewhere that it can take up to, or over a year to heal but that sounds like a long time to me. When people say cartilage takes a long time to heal, what does that actually mean in real terms?? Sorry to be thick. I had my conch pierced once but had to take the piercing out as it was badly infected. Obviously I know now i shouldn't have taken it out....

Cheers guys.

Cartilage piercings usually take at least a year to heal, and a lot of the time they take more. My first conch piercing took about two years and my second one took about a year and a half. My double helix was done over 3 1/2 years ago and it still acts up sometimes.
I'm a member of a forum where people write diaries of punches pretty regularly and it seems like people either say it didn't hurt at all or it was very painful. Some people get them punched and then stretched up a size and that's usually pretty painful, but it's different for everybody. Actually punches don't usually take much, if any longer to heal than a regular piercing, so you're looking at at least a year, but probably more. You'll know when it's healed. I considered my conches healed when they stopped getting crusty, were never sore, and I could comfortably change the jewelry.

I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

Most people seem to say they're not too bad. And the healing time really shouldn't be much longer than a normal cartilage piercing. Actually I have heard punches sometimes heal better than needle piercings for cartilage because they just remove tissue rather than pushing it off to the side which creates pressure. Actually some piercers will use tiny punches like 14G for cartilage just because they heal better.

Cool. Thanks for that.

Yeah, read a few posts and doesn't seem too bad. Apart from one who bled lots!!

Need to wait a few weeks as just has my lobe punched and piercer won't do two punches at the same time!!

Got another three weeks to wait before getting it done!!
