Okay so I just bought 9 tapers.
These ones to be exact: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-FULL-SET-X-9-EA ... 2c58c2e77f

I've read that it says to remove tapers while sleeping but I don't get how I'm meant to do this if it's freshly done?
Do I need to buy plugs to slide in for when I sleep or what?
I'm quite confused. I'm going to start with 1.6mm/14g.

Thank you.

Tapers aren't meant to be worn as jewelry and can be especially harmful when you sleep, so get a pair of plugs at each size to put in immediately after stretching with the tapers.

I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

I see people wearing tapers here all the time and I just wanna grab them by the shoulders and shake them. :( If they didn't make them in appealing colours and patterns, people probably wouldn't think it was okay to wear them.
All the way from the land of the self-conscious zombies.

i dont think using tapers at small gauges is that bad because there not that heavy or bulky, im wear 8g tapers right now, just cause i lost plugs tho and i dont even notice them.
Plugs are better but if you must wear SMALL tappers its not the end of the world.

Yeah, at smaller sizes there are definitely worse things you can do as long as they're short. But most of the time they're acrylic and that's not really good to be stretching with.

It not good though because your ear as at a slightly smaller size at the back of the ear. The thicker your lobes are the worse this can be. Before you even start a bad habit I would order a set of plugs at each side. Your only going to be at each size for 6 weeks or so, so one pair of plugs or at smaller guages circular barbells is okay.

Thats true but as long as you keep your ear on the wearable area i dont think thated be a problem. but just to be safe i would get plugs for all your tapers.
