Piercing to a Stretch - has anyone had this done?

Hey all, so following the advice given on here I've also been looking online / speaking to friends with stretches and they all agreed - tapers are not to be slept in!
So I went back to the piercers to try and get a small 16g plug to use after I'd stretched with the taper, they basically laughed in my face and said it's fine to leave the taper in for a month!
Sooooo I spoke to a piercer recommended to mr, they agreed u shouldnt sleep with a taper in, but he said they also ofer the option of having your ear pierced to a higher gauge (up to a 6g) and putting a plug in.

My question is has anyone had this done, is it a good option for stretching or does it mean you'll be left with a permanent hole in your ear as the skin won't grow back?

Any advice / info appreciated! Thanks :)

Yes, you can get pierced at 6G if the piercer is willing to do it. My piercer will do up to 8G and used to do 4G (she stopped because she hated sticking the huge needles in people, haha). I personally got pierced at 10G and since my ears weren't pierced before it saved me a lot of time.
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

Okay cool, I was a bit sceptical when they first said it to me in case it messed up my earlobe, but Ive had a look few the posts on here and can see a few people have started with a piercing.
Im going to go in tomorrow to speak to the guy and maybe get it done. Thanks for the response.

I was pierced at 8g, now at 4. You won't have a permanent hole if you treat your ears well and have stretchy lobes. A piercing needle doesn't remove tissue, it simply pushes it aside, for lack of a better term. I've seen needles as big as 4g, but that just looks ridiculously painful. 8g is a nice size to start with, IMO, not too big that it'll make you faint thinking, "holy shit, that's going through my un-pierced ear?" It's also not so small that it will take forever to get where you want to be.
2g lobes, want to be 0g

I'm thinking about getting my right ear pierced at either a 6g or 4g.
I have been stretching both my lobes, but my right ear just refused to recover after it tore back in the beggining of November last year (it tore in my sleep 2 days after stretching to 4g, via my tunnel getting pulled since I'm a restless sleeper).
For the last 2 months or so I've let my right ear lobe go naked and it's shrunk down to about a 14g (I stretched it before taking the jewellery out completely to increase chances of shrinking).
Any advice on getting it re-pierced, essentially "cutting out" the scarred tissue?

I'd probably have to go to a piercing specialist in the city, since I honestly don't trust most of the piercing places around where I live as far as I could throw them :3
