Firstly hi im Liam and im new too the forum :)

So I started stretching my left lobe (my right lobe isn't pierced) a bit ago before I found this forum and after reading here about the importance of taking it slow I realised I stretched way too fast :/

So heres my story...
I pierced my ear ages ago and my ears were fully healed and then left a gap of about 2months between fully healed ears and stretching.

So i started by stretching using a steel taper from 14g too 6g which meant I skipped 3 sizes which at the time thought was normal. The stretch did bleed a little and was little painful but I got my 6g steel treaded flare tunnel thing in no problem. I left this in for about a month and a half and it healed nicely without and problems at all.

I stretched again from 6g too 2g on Christmas Eve with an acrylic taper after a hot shower and it didn't bleed or hurt at all. I got my tunnel in no problem and it was only a little tender the next day but more importantly I hadn't got a blow out :)

So today in the shower (5 days after stretching) I took my tunnel out and looked in the mirror and my ear looks nice and healthy with no obvious problems or anything like that at all! :)

Im going too stay at 2g for a very long time as im pretty sure I stretched way too fast, but how long do you guys think I should wait? Also does anyone have any advice or tips for making sure my ear hasn't being damaged?

Thanks Liam, I hope I haven't screwed my ear :|

you stretched way too fast. You should never skip sizes.

Probably your ear is already damaged. Your lobes could be thin because you stretched too fast + skipped sizes, you're lucky you didn't got a blow-out.

You probably had a tear too. Basically what it is small or larger rips in the outside or inside (the fistula) skin of your ear. You would know you have a tear if you see any blood or you feel a sharp pain. Sometimes it feels like a paper cut inside your ear. Sometimes these require serious medical attention depending on the situation. To treat a tear, do sea salt soaks twice a day and vitamin E oil massages. I know this treatment seems repetitious but it really works wonders on most piercing related problems.

There is also a chance you have scar tissue in your ear, which makes it harder and more painful to stretch in the future.

I would downsize and give your ears some rest.

Ahhhh damn :|

I don't intend too skip any sizes in the future now.

My ears are reasonably fat actually, I feel pretty lucky

I don't mean too go against what you say as im sure you know alot more but Im pretty positive I haven't had a tear, I have been doing see salt soaks daily anyway and rubbing a Vitamin E Oil and Jojoba Oil rich cream into my lobes every night since I started stretching which I think might have saved me abit?

I think I probably do have scar tissue how do I know? What does it look like?

Thank you very much for your advice! Cheers

Liam

If it bled, then it defininately tore.

Restretching every so often is a good idea for everyone anyway, makes happy lobes :)

Damn... I left it a month and a half thought, was that long enough to heal?

When I stretched too 2g it didn't bleed at all so I guess it was ok?
