Re: What do you use as lube?

Emu oil! Jojoba is also good if the idea of emu oil grosses you out, haha.

It is gross seeming at first. But I figure I eat meat and wear leather, not a big difference. It doesn't smell and helps heal super fast.

There are grosser things, like petroleum jelly, which is a byproduct of oil ...

Re: Not sure whats up with my ear? (bad aftercare maybe?)

Bio Oil has color and fragrance added, so not really recommended for irritated skin. Not saying don't use it, just be careful. Good job. Seems like you are doing the best anyone could.

Re: What do you use as lube?

I don't use water-based lube because it made the plug I inserted after stretching STICK! It was bad. I use emu oil.

Re: Should I go from 20g to 16g?

It sucks two spend the cash, but yeah get the 14g because you need to let your lobes stretch slow, slow, slow. The beginning is important. Just keep the 14g in for 3-4 wks. It is important to wait even if the 16g might go right in no prob.

Re: Sore ears (haven't even stretched yet)….

Stick with what works. And try not to fiddle with them, that will just make it worse. Glad you got a stretching kit! :D
Now just to wait. In the meantime find so emu or jojoba oil.

Re: Sore ears (haven't even stretched yet)….

If you can't get out to get anothe pair or can't afford another wear the gold pair. Gold is an anti-inflammatory. Silver is anti-bacterial. Cheap metal is troublesome. You really could be soar from pushing in the earrings. The only way to know what causes the trouble you are having is trial and error.

Re: Sore ears (haven't even stretched yet)….

Try some sterling silver, 24k gold or high quality surgical stainless steel. Nickel is a common allergien, so try to find nickle free earrings. The bell shaped backs are easy to remove, they do not catch on the groove on the end of the post.

Re: Tightness

My best advice would be go back to the sss if it helped and made you feel better before it prob will work again.

Could it be the material of the plugs giving you a bit of a reaction?

Try emu oil instead, it is really good for irritation.
