While I haven't had my septum pierced, I know that a few of my friends had their septum pierced at 12g and have had zero issues with it.
As for the heavier ring, I'm not sure. But surely if it is surgical steel then it won't be heavy to the point where it causes discomfort.

I now realise why everyone says they are so good. I normally wear acrylic no flare plugs (I know, they are bad for healing but I never had any reactions or anything bad happen from it) and after the o-ring kept falling off my 8mm plug at inconvenient times, I decided to get single flare, steel ...

Is it a possibility that your left ear lobe is just thicker than your other one naturally? What does the inside of it look like?

Sadly, It's winter where I live (Australia) so everything is pretty boring, ahahahaha

But when summer finally comes around, I'll finally be finished school, so I'll probably spend my time at the beach without worrying about anything for a while

I'm thinking about stretching my ears via taping and was wondering what sort of plugs are recommended to tape.
