It shouldn't be "bad" for your ears, just make sure that you take your time and do the correctly.
It's completely safe to do so unless you've ripped or something of that nature.
Listen to your body and take your time!
Happy Stretching my friend.

Re: cold ears lol
Eh, regardless of recently stretching or not. The metal in the tunnels obviously get cold faster and the bottom part of your ear has less body temp to "feed" off of. So as Ollie from Family Guy says..
IT'S GON' GET COLD.
lol just wanted to say that.

Re: Advice needed!
Essentially the reasons that that gave are valid, but an underlying reason was that if something bad does happen to your ear it looks bad on the piercer. So they try to avoid hazardous piercings.

Not a big fan of silicon here. Wood is my thing. I haven't a clue why, but when I have wood in it just feels..natural?

Re: is it safe to restretch my ear that ripped?
Just remember to be careful and if you feel any abnormalities when you stretch, i.e. ripping, too much pressure, etc., quit immediately.
Make sure that your ears are fully healed though!

@tcb77
Always a good question. The way I'd suggest winning your parent/s over is to just be completely honest with them. Say that they're not a tattoo so if you decide in a few months/weeks/years that you don't want them that all you have to do is take them out.

Re: horrible piercers...
It happens. Even people who seem not to stereotype, do. I'm sorry for your experience and just hope you can find the help you need here so you don't have to deal with horrible shop owners anymore.

Re: What do guys think of girls with stretched ears?
Imho, I dislike girls with gauges. Well not them literally, but I find it off-putting and not a quality in a girl I'd date. That's just my opinion I guess. I'm all for them doing it, just not my girl.

Re: cold ears lol
Ya gotta think, though your ear may have the same amount of skin on it, it's displaced. So the lesser of your ear when outside in the cold does just that, gets colder faster. I've done the same thing, it is not a good idea to wear any kind of metal during the cold months!
Hope that helped lol
