If I were you I'd try going to 7mm between 6-8mm. It is a one of the rarer sizes, but you can buy it from both Body Jewellery Shop and Body Art Forms.

Not everyone goes to the sizes between 6-8, 8-10, 10-12, ect, but I definitely recommend it; it's far less likely you'll have any damage to your ear ...
