In the time I've had stretched ears, nobody has ever said anything to me. I don't think that where I live has more open-minded people. In fact, where I live I see the biggest cases of ignorance everyday.

I wanted to stretch the second hole (currently at a 14g), not sure how big I want it though... What size do you think I could go? Or should I just keep it like this?
My first lobe hole is at its goal size :)

How much is "some time"?
I don't think the taper's length would make much of a difference, considering that the actual size would be the same. If it hurts, you're more than likely not ready yet. 2g to 0g is quite a big jump, you might want to consider getting 1g tapers or taping up to that size ...
