They're not sore in the slightest, and feel healthy. That said, once I go through the plugs out, clean, oil, plugs in cycle they'll feel slightly itchy and irritated (though not painful) for maybe an hour after.

I went to a lot of piercing places before getting my 4mm piercings, and most of them were very uneasy about piercing at 5mm. In fact, 4mm was even considered too big by some.

To be honest, the win factor of being pierced at larger sizes doesn't seem worth it; the holes in my personal experience ...

I'm not sure I understand what you mean correctly; can you please clarify?

The o-rings are simply to keep jewelry in place; I'm not sure how you can wear them without jewelry.
