This is possible, although I use very few products due to sensitive skin. It could actually be the essential oils in my stretching products. I have also had minor flare-ups in my pierced ears, even when unstretched.

Since we're at it, I have a similar question. I stretched progressively, over about six months, and have been at 6g/4mm for almost a year now. I am not planning to go on stretching but, even after all this time, the holes are still red and irritated. I use good quality oil and butter very regularly ...
