I guess id be one of the lucky ones. i went from an 18g piercing to a 6g 2 weeks after getting the original piercing (that was a long, slow and painful day) then was able to put in a 4g the next day. was at 00 within the month. currently im at 3/4'' (19mm) after 2 years from the initial stretch ...
