thanks for the advice everyone! I got the plumber's tape last night and also got a single flared 2G tunnel. Putting the tape and oil on was much easier than I thought. So glad to have the stupid pointy taper out!

^okay. What do you do when it comes to cleaning? Just pull the tape off and put on new one? When I go to the store, which section do I look in to find this tape?

Can you explain this tape method? Are you talking about sticky tape? I don't know anything about it. I thought you're supposed to use the correct proper steel tapers at the right size (2 --> 0)? People just roll tape around a tunnel to make it "thicker?" Won't the tape hold a lot of bacteria? How ...

So I've been at a 2G for a LONG time now (like 5 months) but that ear has a lot of scar tissue from previous bad stretching (I waited long in between sizes but I guess my skin/tissue type doesn't stretch well). I've been using an expensive scar treatment oil but that doesn't really seem to help.
