They were done with a gun, but it was a couple of years ago. Will they still heal up? I was planning on stretching to about 1/2". I'm at an 8g right now

My left ear is pierced straight through, so it's like -|- where the | represents the ear and the - is the earring. My right ear is different. It's like at an angle instead of straight through. I'm not sure if should continue stretching or not. I've just noticed recently that the piercing on my right ear is slightly lower on my ear compared to my left ear. Will it be less noticeable as I continue stretching or should I take it out? I'm at a 10g right now.
