Last night, I added another layer of tape to my plugs. The left one went in fine, but when I put in the right plug, it seems like I got a veeeery tiny ring of skin pushed out on the front of my lobe. You don't just "get gauges," it's a very long process. Do you have any lobe piercings to begin with? If not, that's the first thing you need to do. Go to a professional studio (not Claire's or Wal-Mart or anywhere that uses a gun) and have them pierce you at a slightly larger-than-normal gauge ...

What about if you use pinchers? I use them because they distribute/balance the weight evenly. Is it safe to use those as jewelry?
