I agree with everything shellbournian has said.
I don't want to have children, but if I did adopt, I would let them stretch when they turned twelve. Of course, I would be there to watch them/provide precautions and assist them and/or make sure they're not effin' up their ears like 90% of people I ...

Re: the first negative reactions are the hardest
I've never had strangers look at me weird or anything because usually my hair covers my ears so you can't see my tunnels, but I've had a couple of checkout girls with stretched ears or other body modifications kind of give me a long glance of mild interest and acknowledgement.

Re: How you hide your stretched ears?
I have pretty large lobes, so if I wear plugs, it doesn't even look like my ear is stretched. It just looks like I'm wearing those normal earring studs with a large button for a front or w/e.
I also have long hair. I kind of kept pressuring my parents and they used to always make me take out my ...

1. How many of you have a stable job or have qualifications for a job (The economy sucks.)
I don't have a job right now, but I've had some in the past where they didn't mind my lobes.
2. How many of you graduated highschool, or higher levels of education?

Jojoba oil.
You should also stretch right after a long and hot shower so it softens your ear and improves the elasticity.

Re: How long to get where u are now
I started in August of last year and now I'm at a 5/8" in my left ear and 9/16" in my right. (I only bought one 5/8"-sized tunnel online for some reason and did a single dead-stretch. But I went to a shop and bought a pair of white saddle-plugs that I'll use after my left ear heals from last weekend ...

Re: Does My Ear Look Good?
Stretching that many sizes was a bad idea, but I guess you're similar to me and don't like downsizing once you've reached a higher gauge, so all I can suggest is this:
- Daily sea-salt soaks.
- Daily oil rubs with jojoba oil if possible, but emu oil and vitamin e oil work great as well.

I think you mean tunnel? Gauge is the size unit..
But I'm curious as to whether or not they can fuse to your ear if you're already at the same size the tunnel is.

Re: Some help with stretching?!
Crap. Well, going by what the two posters above me said, I'm guessing me and everyone I know are stretching incorrectly, or they must have crazy pain tolerances, because I now take very special care of my ears and stretching and they still hurt quite a bit to the point where my head will throb and ...

Re: Some help with stretching?!
IDK. Everyone I knew when I first started stretching waited only two weeks and said that that was the standard healing time. It wasn't until I did some Internet-research that I found out otherwise. Usually, it's a month; but some piercing shops/websites advocate waiting two-to-three.
