I agree 100% poly clay is never a good choice, i dont see why people still make/buy/wear them.TheGreyEyedMonster wrote:DONT use polymer clay, that stuff has chemicals in it that are very bad for your ears, especially ones that are so sensitive.

Re: ouch! stretch from 8gauge to 6gauge very painful
I stretched all the way to 7/8" with no pain or anything besides the initial pinch of piercing my ears.
I would wait for a month between stretches, use tapers every time and lube every time up till 00. After 00 i was too cheap to buy jewelry every size so i taped my way through the sizes (would do ...

Re: Will it look good?
i almost lost my second hole when i was stretching (that i later took out anyways so all the work was for naught) but i ended up going up and down sizes to build up more tissue between the holes, it helped alot but it also made my lobes pretty thick (which i liked but i wasnt trying to do that ...

stretching should never hurt.
How long did you wait?
Did you use lube?
Taper?
etc.

Re: mirror plugs
I know a lot of glass people that would cut perfectly sized mirror rounds for me and i make wooden plugs http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mirage-Pl ... 3095892352.
I could very easily inlay the mirrors into some plugs.
if you dont find anything else.

Re: Teardrop plugs
I have worn elliptical shaped jewelry (7/8") with no ill-effects.
Granted I never wore them for multiple days straight out of concern for the same problem (uneven distribution of pressure).

Re: Just wanted to say!!
I personally use jojoba oil for my ears, and used it when I was stretching.
I have used Vitamin E oil aswell but my ears seemed to prefer the jojoba a little bit more and my ears were softer and felt healthier when using jojoba.
This is just my ears though, I dont know about other peoples.

Re: Gauged Mommy here...
No offense but i wouldn't ever put poly clay in my ears, if you want to make plugs get a lathe and start turning wood (and decent woods dont be one of the hacks that uses cheap soft woods that arent exactly safe for use in ears) like i did. I sell on etsy too ( http://www.mirageplugco.etsy.com ...

Re: How long to get where u are now
It shouldn't ever hurt when you stretch up if you do it right. None of mine did besides my first couple because I didn't really know what i was doing originally.
