The Occupy movement got pretty rough because it attracted a lot of crazies... but set up camp in the middle of a large city and of course that's going to happen. It started out as a GREAT thing. I was involved in a smaller version where I live for a couple weeks.

Yeah, economic and social equality sounds great, but it will eventually lead to a socialist/communist government; which has ended badly in the past. Remember everything Hitler did was legal as well.

Occupy isn't about socialism/communism (which have become dirty words in our country even though there's nothing inherently evil about them), it's simply about putting an end to policies that favor the rich. That doesn't mean a total redistribution of wealth, it just means better opportunities for people who aren't in the top 1%.

Well I mean history does repeat itself and look at every other country that has had a communist/socialist government and how they ended up (everything good ol' Adolf did was legal too). I don't want to sound like a complete right winger, but I mean all those corporations started off with one person that had a vision and they obtained that. What is so unfair about that? Spreading out the wealth just because people seem to think that the government or those corporations owe them something is ridiculous no offense it just seems like a brat's attitude they have worked hard to become what they are and deserve their money. I am struggling as well to make ends meet I work two jobs and go to school to help support myself and help my family who is deeply struggling, but that is alright. Just because life gives you a hard shove does not mean you give up; it means you try harder. We can't bitch any time something is unfair that is just childish. You are in control of how your life is going if you do not like how it is going you can change it through hard work.

It's not about the government or corporations owing anything to anybody. If they really work that hard and deserve their pay, great. However, it's really unfair that our current political system seems to make it easier for them to get richer without even doing anything and for people like us to get poorer while working our butts off. Unfortunately, we do not live in a society where everyone can succeed if they put their mind to it. That is the American dream, but it's not reality right now. The goal of Occupy is to get that opportunity back to everyone, not just a select few.

I know a lot of people who were involved with Occupy that worked two jobs, went to school, AND found time to participate in the movement. I didn't know anyone there who didn't work, or at least go to school. People like to paint their own picture of the Occupiers as whiny, jobless, lazy brats because it's easy and it fits their point of view but it's just completely false.

Quick note, Hitler/Nazi Germany has been mentioned twice regarding policy, communism and/or socialism. May I state, for the record, that Hitler wasn't necessarily pro-communism or pro-socialism. He was, however, VERY pro-nation. He quoted Nietzsche's pro-Germany statements feeling the context supported his position while in power. (He misunderstood. Nietzsche would support Hitler's perspective on will to power, but not his genocidal motives. Nietzsche was a misogynist, not a member of the Aryan race, which good ol' Adolf didn't hail from either. Lol)

Back to my point, Hitler invaded soviet Russia to take control, if my memory serves.

If you want to point a finger at communism and socialism in practice, think Lenin and Stalin.

Regardless of what Hitler was responsible for, he isn't the focal point of every failed movement and social injustice. Just the ones centered in Germany during his time in power. Lol

Also, in a way, Hitler was a very early occupier, but he deviated from the stated occupy case when he stopped focusing on the German worker's party. ; )
