Just my take on the matter.
Sometimes i just dont think that people think about what streched ears are before they openly judge a person with streched ears. My paernts have been so adament about telling me how they dont like my streched ears buts its always been the same words "I just dont like them". But i never hear what they dont like about them or why they dont like them. I look at them like a piece of art, that the ears become more shaped and its not overwhelming to the face but becomes an asset to the face. But there is very little to no thought in absent mindedly saying that you dont like something and thats whats frustrating to me becuase what is an absent minded act makes me feel bad and estranged at times...

I can understand the frustration of trying to get others to appreciate something you enjoy. It can try your patience and make you feel disconnected.
Having said that, something really helpful to remember is that sometimes people like or dislike things without any logical justification. just as you or I might find body modification as beautiful, some people don't.
They may find it "barbaric" or "primitive." Modifications of any sort may simply trigger something negative deep in their minds.
Perhaps, if you can show them it is simply your way of enjoying the human condition and experiencing life, they might come around to it. If you choose to open up your side and let them know you're open to just hearing them, they might open up a little more to you too. just know it's your choice and your happiness and nobody else can define what you take joy from. : )

Re: Just my take on the matter.
I don't really mind when people say they just don't like them, but it irritates me when people say they don't like them because they're "gross."
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

Yeah, "gross" is kind of a useless, negative thing to say about something. if they find it uncomfortable to look at, there must be a reason.

Re: Just my take on the matter.
I only wish people would think more at times. But true, maybe it is a "gut reaction" but I feel like that excuse no longer has validity to me any longer as I hear too often.
But really i would be so intrested to hear a solid reason why someone would not like streched ears but i have yet to hear a single one yet i know plenty of people that are opposed to them

I agree. I've had tons of people wince and shrink back at my ears, and I'm just kind of annoyed. Really?
Body modification is such an old practice, so some could call it archaic, but there are a lot of other very "normal" things that are old practices and receive no attacks [i.e. three meals a day].
