Calipers or wheel?

Hello lovely ear stretching people,

I've just had a new tunnel delivered, but I'm not sure what size I've been sent. I ordered a 7mm but it really looks the same size as my 6mm I'm wearing at the moment. I've been thinking I should get some calipers or a wheel thing, and was wondering which was the best, in people's experience?

Can anyone recomend a brand/make of either?

Thanks!

Re: Calipers or wheel?

I would recommend getting calipers. A wheel is good for knowing if you're roughly at one size, but a set of calipers will help you to know precisely the size you have. It's also good for taping. I don't have a recommendation on brand.

Do you ever order from Body Art Forms? If so, they will send you a little card that has jewelry measurements and diagrams explaining what's what on jewelry. They are super useful!
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

Hey,

nope... never ordered from them. I live in the UK so hadn't come accross that site. Sounds useful though...

Can't find calipers in any hardware stores here. Might order some online.

Hmmm....

OH BAF are awesome!

Calipers are the only way to get really accurate measurement.

If you're going to get calipers, get digital ones; much more accurate, and super easy to read. Though you should get them calibrated every so often, and they are expensive.

You can find plastic ones around which are okay, but they're just the same as wheels or cards. You don't really know how right they/you are.

Hi Stashio,

Cool - cheers. I see you are another Uk ear stretcher.

What are BAFs delivery times/reliability like?? I was thinking about some digital calipers... Sounds good.

Cheers for your advice?
