Small sizes, big mouths.
I'm frankly tired of people with 10g-0g trying to give advice. Larger sizes are so much more different, even with studying, everyone's ears are different. I don't want to get flamed for this, if you don't agree, great don't comment on it, this is just my opinion. But back to the subject, some ears are more stretchy, some are thicker, some are better at healing, sure people with small ears want to voice their opinion, but try doing it for the smaller sizes. The only reason I say this is because, with smaller sizes, you have no history/examples to say. You could just be giving information that worked for one ear. I know so many people following things that are just fucking their ears up. That's just my opinion though, its your own ear, so there really isn't a right guide to stretching. Maybe for oils and such, sure! but besides that the only real guide is going slow.

Re: Small sizes, big mouths.
By posting this you are basically asking to be flamed. Honestly, stretching is stretching if you don't want someone's opinion, don't ask for it. This is not a competition and if you think that simply having bigger holes in your ears somehow makes you better, special, etc then you are a fool.
When you come around asking for help them don't bitch when you get a response. If you don't like it, take a hike.

Re: Small sizes, big mouths.
Incidentally, the people you are talking about with "big mouths," me included, I'm sure, have not had the kinds of issues you've admitted to, i.e. tearing, blowouts, etc. because we LIVE OUR OWN ADVICE.
I am always more likely to take the advice from someone who has had success with their own methods than someone who fucked themselves up, asked for advice and opinions and then bitched because they weren't told what they wanted to hear.
Side note, I notices this post went up after the SECOND time you were told not to use tea tree oil, so a note on that: Avoiding tea tree oil is NOT about stretching. It's about skin health. Tea tree oil is not intended for use, undiluted on any part of your body. It's a very strong essential oil and can cause chemical burns.
Anyway, as I said before, if you don't want someone's opinion, don't ask. Kthxbai

Re: Small sizes, big mouths.
Oh my goodness, not again. I hate this argument. People have posted almost this same thread many times, and it's obvious it's about me and a few others on here.
To be honest, the people on this board who give the best advice have small lobes. Stretching is repeating the same action over and over and as long as you do it correctly and slowly it's really no different at bigger sizes. The only reason a person with bigger lobes might have more experience is because they've probably tried more stretching methods, but a lot of people with smaller sizes have too. I've tried tapers, dead stretching, and taping.
I repeat the advice I've given by experienced people with the healthiest lobes I've seen. I learned a lot from the bodyjewelleryshop.com forums, where I can assure you people give a lot more "strict" advice than we do on here. The users on this forum that call us "stretching Nazis" would have a heart attack if they got on there. Some of them have big lobes, some of them don't, but they all give the same good advice because they've researched.
Would you be more likely to trust the advice of someone with 1" lobes who got there in two months, or someone at 0G who got there in two years and had spent the whole time researching?

I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

Lindsay, Danke schon. ; )
I agree with your thoughts on the "stretching nazi" thing. I spend time on here and the BAF forums. If the people here think the advice is harsh, they should take a look at the BAF advice threads. Lol Strict adherence is mandatory if you want a positive response. To their credit, the people on that forum all have Or have been involved with amazing mods. (piercings, brandings, tattoos, scarification, suspensions etc.)
All of that said, I know you frequent BAF as well I've seen you on there. Lol

Re: Small sizes, big mouths.
I used to get on the BAF forums a lot but I forgot my password or something and can't log in... I've been too lazy to do something about it, haha. I stick to the BJS forums mostly.
Anyway, back on topic... one of us should start a thread like "I hate when people with big lobes think they know everything."

I like this. Everyone is voicing their arguments, also, im not saying its a competition, im saying that people with smaller ears would probably be better giving advice for smaller ears. I did not intend any disrespect. I appreciate the responses (:

Re: Small sizes, big mouths.
But, that's the thing right there. By the time you've gotten to single-digit sizes you should have gone through several stretches already. Moreover, you have gone through some of the most important ones that will lay the foundation for everything in the future.
Also, the rules don't change just because your ears have been stretched bigger. A tear is a tear. A blowout is a blowout. Thin lobes are thin lobes. I was in a store the other day and saw someone at about a 2g and their lobes were so thin that the flare on their earskins hung below the bottom of their lobes.
In the end all the lessons apply just the same. Big lobes, small lobes it doesn't matter. Also, the people on here with small lobes have helped others with much larger lobes solve problems because we talk to lots of people and apply different techniques on our own ears. Body art is an art because it requires patience and practice.
In the end, saying advice isn't sound because we choose to have the piercings how we choose is unreasonable. I say the proof is in the pudding. Look at the success rate for people who have taken advice on this board from those with "small lobes" and you'll see that body health is independent from modification choice.
On other forums you'll see people with smaller lobes than mine helping people with loves far larger than yours because they have the know-how. Ultimately luck and good fortune are no substitute for sound advice.
