Re: 00 gauge plug help
its just because the gauge system is really flawed thats why its best to just go with mm .. some companies call oog 10mm some call it 9mm you just have to be careful and look at the mm . there are even differences like that in smaller sizes . Im at 4 ga and most places call that 5mm but Ive seen some places call it 5.2 mm ...
the term gauge wasnt started for measuring earrings it was started for wires I believe ( could be wrong ) but thats why the increases arent even either

Jayne, yep. The gauge system is intended for wire. So, if you buy metal barbells they should be accurate to gauge as it is a standard. If you buy anything else, it is likely measured to some approximation of the gauge size, or just whatever they feel like. If you go by mm measurement you are far more likely to get jewelry that is sized accurately. : )

Re: 00 gauge plug help
Some 00G is 9mm, some is 9.5mm, and some is 10mm, so it's extremely confusing.
What I did was I just made sure the 00G plugs I stretched with were 9mm. Some websites (like Body Art Forms) specify the millimeters on certain plugs. For example, I stretched with these: http://www.bodyartforms.com/productdeta ... 6&index=20 (they have them in lots of different colors) and they have both 9mm and 10mm. If you see 00G plugs that don't have the millimeters specified, they're most likely 9.5/10mm.
00G is my goal size, so I'm just treating 9mm like a separate size, kind of like 7mm. When I get to 10mm I'll still wear 9/9.5mm stuff if I can.

I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

Well, 00G CAN be 9, 9.5, or 10mm but it's usually 9.5 or 10. So it's best to make sure the first 00G plugs you get are 9mm, and keep that size in for 6-8 weeks like you would any other stretch.
