Would it be worth it?

I've been at 2g for a while and i planned on staying this size because of my parents. Me being only 16, i can't do whatever i want yet lol. Would my parents easily notice that i stretched from a 2g to 0g? My mother told me if i go to 0g, she'd chew the plug out. (Disgusting, but an inside joke lol) Which basically means she doesn't want me going any higher.

Another question is, how easy is it to hide you have stretched ears with skin colored plugs? I don't want to be out of a job if they ever say, "You can't have those" lol.

Thanks

2g to 0g is a 2mm stretch. That's definitely visibly noticeable. I would say, if you have doubts, don't stretch. You have your whole life. Roll with what you have for now and do more later if you still want to.

As far as hider plugs, I have a set I wear from time to time if I am trying to avoid making a splash. They aren't a perfect match to my skin and you can see the edges to a certain extent. That said, if you have long hair it is easier to hide your lobes. Also, if you stay at a smaller size (0g or smaller) then you can get conservative jewelry that people won't actively pay attention to. I have an office job working for an insurance company and I haven't had any negative reactions to my ears. I have had a few people say they think I.might look better about another even gauge up.

Long and short, stretched ears is a personal decision much like finding a job is. If you truly find a job that is a good match, they will accept you as you are. Bearing in mind, of course, that there are.always limits depending on the line of work you want to go into.

Good luck! : )

Re: Would it be worth it?

Hello,

I do not want to sound like a parent because I am only nine-teen, but if your mom does not want you to go another size up just wait dude. I was not allowed to even get my ears pierced until I was eighteen now my ears are currently at 1/2in and my parents do not mind they appreciate the fact I waited to stretch.

Now onto work, I currently work at Gap and they do not mind at all, but t greatly depends on which field of work you are going into. Anything financial or in the legal system forget. It's sad, but people do base first impressions based upon looks.

I disagree about the financial thing. I work for an insurance company as a content engineer and the people at my company don't have a problem with ears stretched "within reason."

I actually get compliments on my ears. : )

@ast.riske that's awesome you are very lucky to have them react like that. I wish it was like that everywhere.

This isn't necessarily true. I am a paralegal in a very large law firm in New Orleans, and I have stretched ears, among other visible piercings and tattoos. I believe it is in part dependant on your abilities, and largely on the employer. Some are much more progressive these days.

same answer. a friend of mine is a medical assistant for an oncology clinic and she's at 1 1/4. a person with a good education and good work ethic can go far regardless of body mods.
