electric tape stretch risks

I now have 25mm stretch and lost one of my plugs so for the time being I made myself a stretch made entirely of electrical tape and tough I won't be keeping it for long I was wandering if my ear lobe could make a bad reaction to the electric tape or any long term issue

lol depends on u. if u clean it off every day then u will be fine. SUm people have reactions to it, but alot of people dont. I never did. an i used electrical tape alot. The only way to know is to see what happens. Contrary to what most on this forum will tell u tho, electrical will not ruin ur lobes as long as its a temporary thing.

Plumber's tape is a much better option. Electrical tape is really porous, plus it has glue that can irritate the hell out of your ears, especially if you have sensitive skin.

No offense to Corazono but i have real experience with electrical tape and feel my opinion might help u a bit moar then hers seein as how u are already using electrical tape. When i give advice, its not an *i heard this is bad type thing* its an *i have been there an dun that* otherwise i wouldnt advise u on the subject.

Bondage tape can be wrapped over the electrical tape, ive dun that an it worked just as well. But keep ur electrical tape plugs clean xD

just some info about electrical tape .. when it gets hot the glue gets all melty , not just on ears but on anything , ever left a roll of electrical tape in the car ? when you you pick it up its all sticky on the edges ( and usually all hairy and linty from what ever its been in contact with ) , probably not the best thing to leave in your lobes cause when you sleep your body heats up and could be a sticky mess which will attract germs ..( just some common since really ) but if its already in there your lobes arent ruined i just wouldnt risk it for long .. and the ptfe plumbers tape is only like 99 cents .. and it actually has no glue , it just holds to itself like cling wrap .. Id get some of that if I were .. Im not saying Nick is wrong but I wouldnt risk it just cause he was ok .. also some people have more easily irritated skin and different allergies .. I just wouldnt risk it for long

Okay, so by that logic if you cut off your foot with a rusty knife and survived you would have complete authority to tell everyone it's safe. And because I haven't done that I'd have no right to warn people against it. You don't have to do something to know it's bad. I have never stretched with electrical tape because I know for a fact it has ruined lots of lobes on lots of people.

does ne one read what i post or do they just hold against me one point i made in the paragraph i have written? go back an read it. I clearly, very clearly actually say * CLEAN UR PLUGS ALOT * then i say if that if he starts to have a reaction just take them out. And using sum electrical tape temporarily to upsize til u buy plugs can hardly be compared to cutting ur foot off with a rusty knife. I even say in my post *TEMPORARY*... Learn to read before u decide to write, otherwise u look like a fool. And anyone can have a reaction to any material. My ears get pissed when i wear steel tunnels, but when i put in acrylic they go back to normal color and dont itch. Every 'Body is different and reacts differently.

I just don't see why a person would want to try electrical tape when there is plumber's tape that's cheaper and they know they won't react to.

My body doesn't like any kind of tape what so ever, I mean any kind and yes I have tried them all, and I have had reactions to surgical, stainless and titanium but acrylic doesn't bother me at all. My skin doc says I fit into a rare category of ppl who have skin irratations to almost all metals. Not that it causes my skin to ooze gooey gross stuff, it just severely itches when I wear it, so I don't or I take an allergy pill for it so it doesn't bother me constantly. I recently found this out after trying the different metals that plugs are made from and ended up seeing my dermatologist bc my ears kept bothering me. So really it just depends on the person and I am just one of those ppl, I don't know why tape irratates my skin so much, I can't even use bondage tape, what ever it is in the bondage tape and plumbers tape irratates my skin, leaves big welps as if someone had wrap an extension cord or something around my wrists, my bf and I only tried that once and it was a nightmare, almost an immediate reaction when it contact with my skin, sorry wasnt trying to gross or anything just saying electrical tape is a no no for me anyways it leaves a rash on my skin its probably the glue stuff, I am allergic to most forms of glue........I have some food allergies......go figure, I suppose my body is just weird all around, so like ppl say it really just depends on your body and sometimes my skin sucks big blue monkey balls
