Shitty tools, or am I being impatient?

I'm experiencing problems trying to stretch from 10g to 8g.

It's been over two months since the last stretch, and I thought, "Aww yeah, it's time," but no go. The SS taper/tunnel kit I'm using came with a mismatched pair of tapers in the 8g baggie. One 10 and one 8. I used the 8 and it went through but the tunnel did not. "Wtf," I thought. So I waited a few weeks, tried again... Still nothing. So this week I decided to try the tape method with my 10g tunnels and take it slow. This morning I soaked, took a shower, massaged, lubed all the things, and popped in the 10g taper closely followed by the taped (one layer PTFE) tunnel. There was a little resistance, so I pushed firmly and got it halfway before realizing the tape was being pushed up the tunnel, not into my ear. Frustrated, I pulled everything out, ripped off the tape, and put in the un-taped tunnels.

So. What in the actual fuck. What really confuses me is that the 8g taper went through my ears with only a slight pinching, so I don't understand why the tunnel won't follow. The slipping tape might have been the lube's doing.

Any advice?

is the tunnel actually bigger than the taper , one of them must be the wrong size . or are the tunnels flared ? cause if they are flares then forget about them and get some no flares ... good luck .. and tape at small sizes is so difficult

I'd suggest you go and get some glass plugs instead. You can run into problems with tunnels. Sometimes they have a bit of a ridge on the non-flared side. This can make them difficult and uncomfortable to get in. Single flare glass plugs typically have a bullet shaped end that is much easier to get in. Perhaps that is all you need to make the transition easier.

That said, itntakes longer for some people's skin to relax thsn others. Mine relaxes really fast, but I know other people who have a terrible time getting their ears to stretch. Just take it slow and easy. Patience is the key to the entire experience.

Best of luck!

My friend had the exact same problem.

The only thing that worked is that she left the taper in over night and the tunnels slid right through the next day. Her holes were tight but they relaxed over night. She figured that she may as well leave the taper in until her stretched holes relaxed a bit. Quite a simple solution.
Obviously you are not meant to leave tapers in, however just a few hours is perfectly ok until her lobes relaxed & it was perfectly fine.

ETA. she did have one of those grooves in her tunnel for the oring, tight ears can sort of get caught in them

Sorry guys! I figured that my post was just going to get lost and unanswered, so I stopped checking after awhile. Thanks for responding though.

The tunnels are single-flared with ring grooves, and I had no problems when I stretched with the same type, 10g. However, there does seem to be a TINY difference in size between the taper and jewelry. I think that may be the problem. It sucks, but I'm just going to wait another month and try again.

Perhaps with glass plugs, if I can convince the SO to invest in a Valentine's day gift...
