How long can you leave silicone tunnels in?

I've read that you should never wear them for more than a few hours at a time, and I've also read that you can wear them as long as you want. Are there any real problems to wearing them more than a few days?

Also, would the rule change if the tunnels were triangular?

Thanks :D

Silicone is porrus, so it has tiny little holes in it that you cant see. Anyways your skin can fuse to it if you leave them in too long. So heres just the thing, when you stretch your ears, you get new tissue in-between the stretching happening, im not going to go into the whole collagen and science aspect of it. Silicone is fine for any time as long as its not a fresh stretch and you rotate it every once and a while.

It really just depends on how your body reacts to silicone. I don't like to wear it for more than two or three days because my ears get really dry. Some people can wear it for weeks and not have problems. Just don't wear it in fresh stretches.

Plugs that are triangular and other shapes are a different story... I wouldn't recommend wearing those for more than a day.
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

As Linsay stated above everyone is different. I can wear only kaos softwear, I have tried 3 other kinds of silicone and they had irratated my lobes within minutes of wearing them. The cheaper quality of most materials my ears generally don't like. I can wear my kaos earskins over night and for up to 2 days before my ears start to get dry, itchy and irritated. So I usually only wae them to sleep in. I have really weird lobes and sensitive skin, there are even some company's titanium jewelry and plugs that I cannot wear.

As far as shaped silicone, its isn't really recommended that you wear any shaped plug or tunnel of any material for more than a day or so at a time. It can change the shape of your lobes and I have seen some pretty nasty pics online from long term wearers and it really damaged their lobes.
