Early stretching

I recently got my right ear pierced and after a month I put a 2mm taper in, then waited over 2 weeks and put 3mm taper in and then after 2 weeks i put a 4mm taper in. im not going to stretch for a long time and i know that i was stupid :D there is a little of that crusty stuff in the mornings and wash it out and put some cream stuff on my lobes.

oh yeah, and there are no signs of a blowout :p

So what do you think about this? :D

Re: Early stretching

I think you stretched way to fast, oh well all you can do now is sea salt soaks and wait.

Re: Early stretching

You're going too fast and you skipped some sizes in the beginning, which is obviously a bad idea.

i think you should wear the jewelry your ears can accommodate now proudly. i hate that everyone on this site puts everyone else down unless they stretch their ears "the perfect way." have fun with your gauges but be careful. however, i stretched my ears at that pace until 00 and have never had any problems. i am at 5/8s as of this morning :D

Re: Early stretching

Everybody makes mistakes. As long as you know how to do it the right way now, and how to fix any problems you run into in the future, you'll be fine.
Me, I just upsized to 4g 2 days ago, but last night I had to take a sleeping pill for my insomnia. I tossed and turned a lot in my sleep and somehow pulled on my right ear and the jewellery , causing a rip/blowout and lots of soreness.

I was so upset, I've taken my jewellery out all together, including my other ear even though it was fine, because I didn't want my ears to be uneven.
Now I'm going to wait about 5-6 months, let my ear heal up and then start from scratch.
I really do not want fucked up lobes. :-\

The "I stretched that fast and have never had any problems" argument is irrelevant. Just because you were lucky enough to have no major problems doesn't mean everyone can do that. Why risk it if there's any chance you'll damage your ears? Also, not everyone on this site gives that kind of advice; many people on here advocate fast stretching. I NEVER put anyone down and neither does anyone else on this site. I warn people if I think they're going to damage their ears but I am never rude or condescending.

That is why i said to be careful? Then i just said what happened for me specifically(which denotes the fact that its not the same for everyone)... you are very good at pointing obvious things out. and i think you are very condescending.

Re: Early stretching

I just don't see how I'm condescending at all... there's a huge difference between giving advice and talking down to people. I don't tell people they're stupid or wrong, I just warn someone if I think they're going to mess up their ears. I know plenty of people in real life who stretched badly but they're still good people and I'm still friends with them. My boyfriend pierced his ears with safety pins and stretched with random stuff around the house when he was a teenager but I don't talk down to him about it.

Re: Early stretching

are you suggesting that just because someone stretches "badly" as you say, they are bad people? its almost like you had to make an excuse to still be friends with them. like "man they stretched their ears badly... but i guess they are still a good person after they did that," as if somehow stretching your ears factors in to being a good or bad person.
