Soaking method.

Okay, so general consensus is that sea salt soaks are awesome, I know that much. But is there more than one way of soaking your lobes? I get two small shot glass sized plastic cups, fill them with warm/hot salty water and invert them over my ears (I have pretty small ears) and basically hold them there for 10 minutes. Is this a weird way of doing it? How does everybody else do it? :|

With stretching, you really don't need soaks unless you have a torn lobe. They're more for fresh piercings. Anyway, there's really no wrong position to soak in; the way you're doing it sounds good, and I just fill a coffee cup with the solution and lean over it (but I soak my whole ear because of helix/conch piercings). It's also really important to get the amount of salt right; you want it to be somewhere between 1/8 and 1/4 teaspoon of salt per one cup of water. A lot of people make the mistake of just dumping a spoon full of salt into some water and that does more harm than good. Not saying you do that, haha, just some people.
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

I use cognac glasses, 1/6 salt, a few drops og tea tree oil and then soak for about 10-15 minutes.

Re: Soaking method.

I just soak them when they're irritated and it soothes them. :D My left ear gives me a little bit of trouble sometimes, not to the point of agony or anything, but when I soak it, it always feels better. I don't use much sea salt, either... no worries there. :)

I've heard good things 'bout tea tree oil, unfortunately I'm sensitive to it. :(
