8g to 6g

So I stretched my ear two days ago. I went from a 8g to a 6g, but it still hurt, well not really painfull but more a pinching pain, my lobe is very warm, but it's not swollen and I don't have a blow-out or infection.
Is this normal? Because normally I had no pain at all, only a few hours after I stretched.
Is this because 8g to 6g is 1mm difference? Because 10g to 8g was 05.mm.
Should I downsize if my ear keeps warm and painfull?

Re: 8g to 6g

It's likely your ears weren't quite ready to stretch, but also 8g to 6g is a big jump as you said, and I know it's caused people a lot of trouble (just like 2g to 0g).
Just keep sea salt soaking your lobes and don't play with them too much, just let them heal up. If you only had a slight pinching pain when putting them through then I wouldn't be worried, as long as they don't hurt like a mother fucker for several hours-days after stretching.
