I live in Ontario, and I use metal tunnels. I don't seem to have much of a problem with the cold either. Usually I'm not outside for long periods of time because I live in the middle of nowhere so the most time I spend outside is between my front door and my jeep.
Whenever I do go for a walk somewhere though I wear a thick shrug hat pulled over my ears or a hoodie and it works just fine for me. Everyone elses suggestions sound good too, just find which one works well for you.
