Re: Hello Everybody!

Hey Everyone,

Havent been on for a while!

Thanks for all of the info. I havent got my ears done yet. I went to my local piercer a couple of weeks ago and had a chat. I was going to start with a 1.6mm labret in my left ear, but the guy 'didn't have the right stock'... I've popped in a couple of times and he says the same thing. Trying to find somewhere else locally, but there don't seem to be too many places locally? I live in Cheltenham, in the UK. Gonna try again at the weekend but not holding my breath...

The plan is to get the 1.6mm piercing done and then slowly go from there. Prob won't go too big. My first goal is 4mm I think... but will see how I go.

Quite tempted to get both ears pierced at the same time.

I'm getting one of my tattoos turned into a half sleeve on Friday too which I can't wait for.

Will keep you updated as to if/when I get my ears done :)

Re: Hello Everybody!

well if your family is anything like mine, it wont be too bad (weirdly enough)

my moms extended side is genocidally catholic,

and when they saw my 1/2" (12.7mm) plugs, they gave me a lot of shit about it.

but they've gotten over it and tried to begin to accept it. :)

Re: Hello Everybody!

Well, the guy I went to see STILL hasn't got the right stock. Spent a bit of time researching and found somewhere that looked ok in the next town over. Contacted them and their piercer is away for 2 weeks. Aaaaaaargh!!!! Maybe I am being too fussy? :(

Hello all.

Latest update. I've just had my ear pierced. Starting off with a standard piercing. Will wait the 6 weeks for it to heal up and then see how it goes.

Hmm what else can I get pierced?

Re: Hello Everybody!

It doesn't always heal within six weeks. In fact, it's really unlikely that it will heal FULLY in that time. Ear piercings usually take 8-12 weeks to heal 100%, and you still need to wait a few months after that before you start stretching. Ideally, you should wait about six months after a piercing to do your first stretch. It's not just about it being healed, it's about it being strong enough to stretch.
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

Re: Hello Everybody!

Hey Lindsay,

Thanks for your reply.

I didn't really realise that! I just thought 4-6 weeks, and then bang in a stretcher. I was talking to my nephew yesterday (17) and he started stretching 5 days after piercing his own ear! It seems to be healing ok but he is going up v. quickly. he is up to 8mm and he only pierced his ear around Christmas! I have tried directing him to these forums but he is sticking with what he thinks is right.

I am going to go slowly slowly catchy monkey. I've done a lot more reading around and think I will probably give it at least a couple of months, maybe three to let the healing settle and see how I feel then.

Sort of tempted to go back and get my right ear pierced too.

Gonna post a pic of my baby standard piercing cos I'm proud of it :)

Thanks again for your advice.

Re: Hello Everybody!

Well, I've had a bit of a mad afternoon... Popped in for a chat with my piercer who happened to have some 3mm plugs in... ended up with a new piercing in my right lobe. Now have a 3mm plug in. Feeling pretty sore. I know some people would say start with a standard piercing and slowly stretch up but my piercer was pretty happy going for a 3mm piercing. It looks pretty good. Got to clean it up in a bit. I might have to let my left lobe piercing heal up and get the hole moved up a tad (it was done somewhere else) so it is in the right place but for now I think I'll let both lobes heal up and settle down a bit and then see how I feel. I quite like the idea of having the left lobe and right lobe for different things! Am looking forward to the right lobe healing up... as I say it's a tad sore but it was a ruddy big needle! Will up load some pics soon...
