Kits to start (noob question)

Hey people, complete noob here so bear with me and any helpful advice is appreriated :)

I'm looking at starting to move up the scale (goal of 8mm) by using acrylic tapers and plugs. ** This is simply because I've seen full kits of tapers and plugs online and I want to buy a few to keep things going **

Reading the advice page on this site, I found acrylic is not recommended for long term use. Once I get the ball rolling and then come to a comfortable gauge which I would stay at for a while, I'll swap the acrylic plugs in the kit for tunnels in steel etc.

Is an acrylic starter kit a good idea?
If not, can anyone direct me to a site where I can buy a set of tapers and plugs in a set for long term use?

Thanks for reading.

An acrylic stretching kit wouldn't be a good idea.
Steel Kit is decent enough and it's cheap as well.

Re: Kits to start (noob question)

I got 316L stainless steel stretching kit 14g-0g single flared plugs and one of each 14g-0g taper. Let me remind you, you only need one taper of each size because its not good to leave tapers in anyways. I got them off a ebay store for 35 bucks. Fast shipping and free!

Heres the link

Re: Kits to start (noob question)

I just saw an AD for this new stretching style/kit available called SnapPlugs, check it out, they look AWESOME: www.stretchlogic.com its supposed to be like using teflon tape, but a million times better! Only $15 bucks for the set too

There is this thread where they talk about them too: http://www.earstretching.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1182
