Holes won't heal :(

Hey everyone, this is my first time posting but I've been checking out this site for a while. If you don't want to read this wall of text containing my ear stretching backstory then skip to the 2nd to last paragraph where my question is :D

I got my ears pierced by a proffesional(not gun) on october 22nd of 2010. I was pierced at a 16g and I waited 2 months until I decided to stretch. I wanted someone to do it for me for the first time so I took my friends advise and went to a (sketchy) tattoo/pierceing holein the wall. I was planning on getting a 14g. The guy convinced me to let him put a 8g in. Not only did it hurt like hell, but he put in an acrylic plug. Obviously my ears were extremely pissed, so I got some stainless steel plugs to replace the acrylics. After another 1.5-2 months I went up to a 6g. My ears bled a little( I didn't know that was bad at the time) but the stretching sensation went away after half an hour. I waited another month and I went to a 4g. Again, my ears bled slightly but seemed fine. About 2 weeks in, one of my friends accidently pulled on the plug and it started to bleed. I took them out for two days, and the hole closed to a 8g. I kept those in for a little more then a month and now I'm back at a 6g(no bleeding this time :D ) I've had the 6g in for about a month now.

What I'm worried about is that my ears basically aren't healing. The area around my ears look fine, and they don't hurt when I touch them. But as soon as I take my plugs out I can see the hole to actually start closing within literally 30 seconds. I have no problom putting my plugs back in, but I just don't understand why it's closing like this. Also, sometimes I can see this almost white fluid come out of my right ear.

Sorry for the lengthy post, and I appreciate all of your advice
BTW I don't need anyone telling me how bad it was to stretch to a 8g from a 16g I already know all of that stuff now thanks to this site
Cheers

Well yeah bleeding is bad... Try going slower and using Vit. E oil, neosporn,or Basitracin to heal the wounds faster. if you notice it getting infected i have noticed using Bactine spray helps mucho.

Umm. if it has bled that much you may have a lot of scar tissue, and that can make it harder to stretch farther. Scar tissue is not hapy when stretched.

As for the white stuff, Here is what caadam wrote:
If you don't feel any swelling and warmth, then the liquid is most likely NOT pus. It's most likely lymphatic fluid, which is pretty normal with new piercings and stretches. Lymphatic fluid aids the healing process.

It's when your ears are warm, swollen, and the liquid is yellow/greenish along with blood, that you are suffering an infection. In that case, the liquid IS pus.

Hope this helps :P

To clarify I wasn't bleeding massive amounts of blood, just a dab. I went to a reputable piercer today he basically said to not take them out no matter what and do saline soaks for another month. I think it's lymph. Has anyone else had these problems?
Thanks for your response :)

The skipping three sizes after only having the piercings for two months explains it. It sucks that the piercer did that to you; you really have to watch piercing/tattoo shops when it comes to stretching. A lot of the time they have no idea what they're talking about. Doesn't mean they're a bad piercer, just that they haven't researched stretching enough.

If I were you, I'd downsize as much as you feel comfortable with, wait a few months, and stretch back up SLOWLY. You've probably got a lot of scar tissue, so when they stop being sore it'd help to do some vitamin E oil massages.
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!
