I got pierced at 8g a little over 3 months ago. My ears feel pretty healed. I can tug directly on the piercings with no pain. Although if i push with some force i feel a little bit of a tenderness sensation on one of the piercing's. overall they feel quite healthy.
What i am wondering is if I'm ready for my first stretch?
Any insight?

Well, it's not enough for your ears to just be healed before you start stretching. The tissue has to have its strength built back up, which typically doesn't happen in three months. So while you're probably at the stage where you can change the jewelry as much as you want with no problems, you're probably not ready to move up to the next size. And since your next stretch is 6G (which is a difficult one for most people), I'd wait a few more months. Six months is the recommended amount of time to wait, but four or five months is a good minimum. I got piercer at 10G and I think I stretched after like 5 1/2.

yes, 6 months is the usual waiting period before your first stretch. this is THE most important stretch, so make sure to be sure

Yup, you need to wait. I was pierced at 8g and tried stretching after 5 months and couldn't get anything to happen. I ended up waiting 8 months because at the time, I wasn't even sure if I was going to be able to keep my piercings, but 6 months should be about right.

Just wait until your ears are completely healed and ready. Everyone is different, some people have to wait longer than others... Although typically most professionals say wait anywhere from 3 to 6 months. I stretched one month after my initial piercing and had no issues.

As much as it is a pain.....wait another Three to four months before stretching.
My lobes are bloody difficult and I have to wait about six to eight week til my next stretch....which is pain. I thought my left lobe was good to stretch after four weeks and oooo how wrong was I! Got some good advice off Stickycub and went from there. I'm all healed but will wait a little longer just to be safe.......
