Ear Scalpelling.

So basically my ear is gettin to thin for my tastes and i decided i am going to get mine scalpelled and my piercer wants to just make a small incision in the upper part of my ear, and every video i have seen on the internet has people getting a small triangle cut out. Is this little incision a legitimate scalpelling technique as opposed to removal of a small triangle of my upper ear???

Re: Ear Scalpelling.

It would be better to not remove any tissue, trust me your artist is erring on the side of caution. Can one single cut make the hole a little strangely shaped? Sometimes, but when wearing jewelry it won't be noticeable. When you remove tissue you're doing a lot more damage and it will take longer to heal. So most good artists will cut at an angle that will preserve the roundest shape possible, without taking out flesh and having you bleed like a stuck pig for days.

Re: Ear Scalpelling.

Oh, i see what your saying. I just downsized 2 weeks ago, an my ears healed to 5/8 so im going to get them cut to 3/4 then let them heal an gradually go back up. An hopefully once im back to 1 1/4 the thin spot will be stronger an the stretching will take place in the upper part of my ear instead of the thin spot. Im nervous cuz if this doesnt help with the thinning im boned xD
