ouch! stretch from 8gauge to 6gauge very painful

I stretched today to 6g and it was awful and painful. This the first stretch that has hurt at all like this. Does it just get harder as you go bigger? If so I might stay at a 6g lol!

stretching should never hurt.
How long did you wait?
Did you use lube?
Taper?

etc.

I stretched all the way to 7/8" with no pain or anything besides the initial pinch of piercing my ears.

I would wait for a month between stretches, use tapers every time and lube every time up till 00. After 00 i was too cheap to buy jewelry every size so i taped my way through the sizes (would do one wrap of tape every week until i hit the next size and wait for a 3-4 weeks) much slower but kept my ears pretty and healthy.

A full month is not long enough. If your ears hurt when you stretch, you didn't wait long enough. If it's been a year since your last stretch and it still hurts, wait longer. Seriously, pain should not be associated with stretching PERIOD. You need to downsize back to 8, preferably 10g if it hurt.

when I went from 8 to 6 my left ear went after about 2 months just fine , but my right ear took about 1 month longer before it was ready ,both of them painless with almost no resistance , you should give it a little more time next time .. good luck in the future

I'm sure we'll be seeing a thread of your own soon enough if things stay the same.
A month isn't even enough to wait. If you're not patient enough to do something the right way why do it at all?

And Everyone is diffrent for healing. Some it takes a few months others it takes less. In in this persons case they need to wait longer. And Even tho you got your ear pierced three months ago n went from a 2g to a oog, even tho it may seem like theirs no problem but your still pushing your ears. Just because they seem ready dosn't neccisarly mean they are.
Don't fear failure so much that you refuse to try new things. The saddest summary of a life contains three descriptions: could have, might have, and should have.
