how do I get my plug in?
I have waited about 4 months after my initial piercing and stretch to a 14g from 18g. I got the taper through, but I cannot follow through with the single flared tunnel. Should I just leave my taper in for about a week? It is stainless steel. I know how people say it's bad to wear tapers as jewelery, but since it's only a 14g and very light, is it okay?

Re: how do I get my plug in?
hmm, there are a couple of things.
you should be waiting at least 6 months from the initial piercing to start stretching up. this is to give your ear(s) not only enough time to heal but enough time to get stronger as well. stretching before theyre ready will only make weak lobes weaker and can lead to some serious problems.
you skipped two sizes. you need to go from 18g to 16g. again this is to prevent tears and other bad things from happening to your ear.
the taper is probably tight because youve skipped a size and that can make it difficult to follow through with a plug. wearing tapers as jewelry isnt good because puts more weight on the back of your ear and causes uneven stretching. at a small size like 14g its not AS bad, but still isnt advisable.
if i were you id go back down to 18g and wait a few more months, then stretch up to a 16g

Taking it out and waiting is my best bet. Should it be okay if I stretch both lobes to 14g and waiting over 3 months before stretching again? I'm a little stubborn.

Re: how do I get my plug in?
I used a labret stud when I was at 14g, something like this. It looks just like a regular earring and is a lot easier to get in. It also stays in a lot easier. I can't give you advice on the stretching, because I was at an 18g for 17 years and it had a lot of time to stretch out without me actually stretching it, but I wish you luck

With the taper in, put the single flared plug over it and push the taper all the way through with the single flared and it should pop in lol. Use some lube and yeah.
