Blemished kaos are the way to go! I've never had anything more than a bit of flashing, and you can just pull that off.
I've had cheapy silicone, and I don't like it. Looks... ugly? and not very bendy or comfy.

these ones I got are super flexy and honestly I cant tell a difference in them from kaos .. i figure they may not last as long is probably why they were cheaper .. but i got the cheaps on purpose this time cause I was afraid to spend the extra money on kaos and not be able to insert them right lol .. I do agree kaos are probably the best .. but for someone just wanting to test them out first the cheap ones are decent

and like all my jewelry I dont wear it for more than a day at a time , I have a spacific pair of good quality plugs I sleep in every night

I guess thats why I havent had a problem with cheaper plugs irritating me because I only wear them a max of about 12 hours at a time

Hey,

I am new to skins... are they basically flared tunnels made from silicone?? Wow silicone implants :)

I have a 2g tunnel in my right lobe - could I wear them in that size ok?? Is Kaos a brand??

Yep Kaos is a brand. They sell eyelets and also earskins/skin eyelets, which are just super duper thin, and they both come in loads of colours. Version 1 eyelets have a rounded front flare, and a flat (ugly) back flare. Versions 2 have both rounded flares, with an (ugly) seam in the middle, but they're cheaper. Kaos are fading out the OE1, as and when the moulds break. They also discontinued the parylene coated ones, which weren't as tacky (not that I had any problem)
You can actually buy kaos in hottopic (omg, something that isn't awful!). I am jealous, they're actually cheaper than most online sites :/

Shouldn't wear silicone in fresh stretches though. Bad idea.

Re: Tip for inserting smaller gauge ear skins

I started taping my septum up to 6g last night and tried popping the 6g earskin into the center of the nf tunnel I have for my septum. It fit like a champ. Sadly, i don't think my chopstick idea will work for anything bigger than 8g. Once I get up to size, your trick will work beautifully. Good idea, Jayne!

Re: Tip for inserting smaller gauge ear skins

I've heard estimates ranging from 2-6 weeks depending on who you talk to. I generally consider my stretches to be fresh until they loosen up and feel relaxed and comfortable. That usually takes about 3 weeks. Mind you, that's kind of like when ears are first pierced. They heal enough for a jewelry change long before they are even near ready for stretching. : )

Im so glad it worked for you . that girl who originally came up with the straw Idea was a genius ! I just had to share the tip as soon as I seen it and well the tunnels just seem more sanitary :)
