Re: Bump behind ear piercing. Help please?

Every bump on every piercing is not a keloid. Keloids only happen if you're really prone to them... if someone gets one on a piercing they've probably had them before. Bumps just happen, usually because the jewelry's moving around too much. They can be treated fairly easily if you faithfully do sea salt soaks/chamomile compresses.
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

You are right that every bump that develops around a piercing is not a keloid but the statement that keloids only happen if you are prone to them is incorrect. They can form when you have a trauma to your skin. Irritation of you skin in the dermis layers can also cause keloids to develop. I suggested that it may be a keloid because of the time frame of three months and the daily rotating of the jewelry for the first 3 weeks. Those are both factors that promote keloid development. It could be just simple scarring at the piercing site but it could be cyst development. Keloids much more common than you might think especially in cartilage areas of the body.
1 1/4" each lobe. 2g septum. 12g lebret.
6g tongue retired. 12g Hand webbing retired. 12g bridge retired.
12g madison retired. 10g ampallang regretfully retired.

Stretching goal: 1" again. No real need to stop if my ears still want to go.

Sounds like it could just be from your jewellery bumping or irritating the skin behind your ear.
