I've seen around this forum, and bodyartforms, to not use organics on fresh stretches. Is it only because they are porous and can harbour bacteria, or are there other reasons?
It also makes me want to ask, if the reason is cleanliness, if you did SSS and took proper care/cleaning of your stretch, would using organics in the end even matter? I'm just asking because I haven't really seen a clear answer other than potential bacteria/infection, everyone just says "NO", haha.

If you've already done it in the past and you're worried about if it could affect your ears now I wouldn't worry about it if your ears are fine now. If you're wondering if it's okay to do then no, it's not okay to do. It's better to just avoid the chance of an infection.
The sound of gun fire so loud and rapid, but it seems to be so quiet around me, and out of nowhere I feel peace cover me. I reach down and reload my ticket home. The taste of cold steel on my lips, and a second later silence fills the January air...

No I haven't done it before, I was only curious because everyone says it isn't ok and hasn't given any reason other than a chance of infection. I only wanted to know if there was a different reason that it was such a bad idea.

What everyone's been sayin is the only reason to my knowledge. SSS while wearing organic jewerly MIGHT keep you from getting any kind of infection, but I wouldn't risk it. The only jewerly I'd recommend wearing in a newly stretched piercing is stainless steel, titanium, or glass.

Apart from risking infection, the porous surface also irritates the skin more, it can be like sandpaper to a new, sensitive stretch.

Wood especially can be incredibly porous, so your skin could grow into it when fres (like silicone). Plus you shouldn't get it wet.
But most organics are porous to some degree, will harbour and ear cheese and be generally gross. And most you can't really clean/rinse thoroughly.
Fresh stretches get pissed off more easily, and are morelikely to be sensitve to any material reactions/allergies too. Plus they're natural, rarely going to be completely smooth.
Its far far better to be safe than sorry
Metal and especially glass give plenty enough for pretties to start with.
