as you can see below, i have stretched my septum to 2.5mm. it was pierced at 1.6mm last year and i have waited under 2 months after every stretch. and yes, septums get that bad smelling "cheese" in them like ears. SO.... how do i get rid of the smell? i do wash it once a while but the smell comes back in an hour or so

help please!

I have read a lot about organics such as horn, wood, or stone are more porous and absorb that smell for ears. It should be the same for septum piercings. (:

i wear a glass retainer and have very little problem with odor and cheese. i just give it a rinse in the shower and its good to go.

i read somewhere that you can put organics only to a healed piercing, so i will buy one of these when i get to 5mm:

before that i will wear my steel plugs and tubes

To keep the smell down, after it's healed you should wash it as often as possible with unscented antibacterial soap. I wash my ears every day or every other day and it keeps the smell down. The only time I really get it is when I don't wash it for a few days.
Hope that helped :]

Yeah all you have to do is wash it I make my own witchhazel/lavender oil and it helps with the smell but I ALWAYS clean my piercings EVERY shower and if not every one of them every other one.
The smell is your dead skin around the piercing expect it to be there for pretty much ever really. Just gotta keep it clean bro
Hope it helped!
