ripped earlobe

I don't want to bore you with a huge story so I'll try to make this simple and short.
-I was at 5/8" for 4 years
-My plug fell out
-I had nothing else to put in so I used a taper as an earring
-I slept with the taper in
-I woke up to a bunch of blood and a tear in my earlobe
-I took out the taper, cleaned my ear, did a sea salt soak
-I haven't had anything in my ear at all for 4 days
So today I decided to put a plug in just so my hole doesn't get too small and the only size plug I could get in without any force was a 0g -_-
Should I continue to do sea salt soaks and keep the 0g plug in or should I have no plug in at all until everything seems healed?
any advice is appreciated and yeah I know wearing a taper as an earring was a dumb thing to do... using a taper at all is bad enough.
