6 to 4 is actually 1 mm and that is a big jump I wouldnt go to 2 in one jump like that .. although if the flares were big you might already be closer to 4 than 6 I have some 6 ga flares that i still cant wear cause they are so close to being 4 ...but still if I were you I would not skip 4

Don't skip any sizes, ever.

6g to 4g is a 1mm size increase
4g to 2g is a 1mm size increase
2g to 0g is a 2mm size increase
You can't help but wonder how many people actually DID skip sizes by going from 2g to 0g. Instead of going from 2g to 1g. Everyone will tell you not to skip sizes but almost everyone has without even knowing it. However, I wouldn't recommend it.
Personally, I'm at 2g and will be going to 1g in a few weeks. If you can help it, don't make a 2mm increase. That's just going to be uncomfortable and has a much larger risk to problems. In-fact, a number of blowouts and problems come from people trying to go from 2g to 0g. I.E., that 2mm increase like the one you are debating. It isn't worth trying.

actually 2g to 0g was one of my easiest stretches. But it was most definitely because I had double flared 2g plugs.

Interesting to know. Perhaps I'll just stay at 2g a bit longer than I'd planned. I saw some pretty nice 2g plugs I wanted to try out anyway.
Then I just might try doing 2g to 0g.

Glad to hear it went well! Make sure you take it easy with that now and take good care of it for a while before you go any further. Going up 2mm is a pretty big stretch.

pinchers probably wasnt the best thing to stretch with, but whatever i'm not going to nitpick. id suggest that you switch to single or no flare plugs soon though if you havent already done that. it allows your ear to heal evenly (not curved and no uneven weight/pressure)
