Piercing question

I am thing about piercing my ears for the first time and was thinking about getting it a 14g. But I am allergic to silver, metal, stainless steel and sterling silver. So do you think my piercing would heal well if I us acrylic or rubber?

Re: Piercing question

you might just wanna rethink stretching all together I agree gold is a good option but that could get rather expensive especially in the larger sizez but here is a link to some pretty affordable gold labret studs ( which is what i wear in my 14 ga upper lobe holes) they are really great in that size cause they dont get bumped around as much as cbr and they arent as annoying to try and get in as plugs are at the smaller sizes ... any way good luck

Re: Piercing question

Are you allergic to nickel? If so, get pierced with titanium. It's metal but it contains no nickel at all and I'm pretty sure titanium allergies are VERY rare.
If not, how about looking into getting pierced with glass? You might have to do 12G or higher, but that's perfectly fine and will give you a head start in stretching.

You really shouldn't have silver or stainless steel in a fresh piercing anyway, even if you aren't allergic. Always get piercings done with high quality stuff! And no, acrylic and rubber are NOT okay for a new piercing!
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

Re: Piercing question

I completely agree with corozon! Get them pierced with Titanium G34 (that's surgical grade stuff), which you can buy from most well kitted out shops, and most places online =]

I've had a pretty bad experience with acrylic in my conch, so take it from me that that's a bad idea :L The toxins in the acrylic leak into the blood supply, and inevitably lead to infection.. there's no getting away from that one :L

Good luck with the stretching anyway! :D
