The funniest thing is when people with 0 gauges try and give me advice. Like take them out or do this, or do that. I've been doing the piercing/gauge thing for 10 years now. go somewhere else with that bull$h!t I am fully aware of every aspect, good and bad, of gauging/stretching! The Fu|< would you know? Take your baby a$$ holes somewhere else!

Haha you might be talking about me because I get that a lot. But having small lobes doesn't mean a person can't research/have a good understanding of stretching. My lobes are small because I like them that way, not because I'm inexperienced or just starting out. I could give advice on how to heal piercings to a person with 50 piercings and I only have 10. Same thing.

This is an advice forum. Sometimes people will overstep the line, but in general if you don't want advice then don't come on the forum.

Seems like they have nothing better to do. While we are the ones stretching.. they're the ones who think they know what to do. We learn from experience.. they learn from what they hear... Who should be the one giving advice??.. Sure as hell isn't the one who spreads the stupid advice from other noobs. :D

Lobe size really has nothing to do with knowledge of stretching. I didn't start stretching because I wanted my lobes to be as huge as possible, I started stretching because I wanted my lobes at 0G, maybe 00G. Repeating the action of stretching more than someone else doesn't pump the knowledge into your head. I repeat the advice that has been given to me by the people with the healthiest lobes I have seen. Examples include people on other forums and my piercer and tattoo artist who are both members of the Association of Professional Piecers and have stretched lobes and other stretched piercings. I have observed countless times that bad stretching advice = unhealthy lobes and good advice = healthy lobes, so I try to give good advice.

I have seen people with HUGE lobes give horrible advice. Those are usually the people who went as big as possible as fast as possible and are now telling others they should do what they did. Of course people are more likely to listen to them than they are to me just because their ears are bigger. Also, people don't like waiting so they're more likely to listen to someone who says "you'll be fine if you skip directly to 2G and go up a size every other day after that!" than someone who says wait six weeks between sizes and never skip any. I don't claim to give perfect advice, BUT I do think that I have a pretty good idea of how to stretch safely and keep your stretched ears happy. Since I got pierced at 10G and am now at 0G I really haven't stretched nearly as many times as some other people on here, but in my opinion that doesn't mean much at all. If I wanted to stretch more I would, but I don't want to.

With that said, nobody here has to listen to my advice. I just would like to be able to save a few people from ruining their ears for life. With stretching being so popular now I think a lot of people don't even realize what they're doing to themselves.

it's like going up to someone who doesnt know how to swim and saying "i didn't know how to swim, but i jumped in and didn't drown! just jump in, you'll be fine!", while corazon and others on here tell them to get swimming lessons.

Thanks for putting it way more simply than I did. :) I'm sure no one's going to read my entire post, haha.

But yeah, I'm glad I listened to advice (the same advice I give) before I started stretching. About three years ago I had planned on piercing my own ears with regular 20G earrings and stretching with/wearing pinchers a few weeks later, starting at 14G. I'm glad I did research before I did that because my ears turned out to be pretty difficult to stretch and if I hadn't stretched properly I'd probably have blowouts and horrible cat butt right now.

No, lobe size has nothing to do with knowledge of gauging! Knowledge can be learned hands on or through reading! And you/me/we/us started stretching cuz you/me/we/us, were unsatisfied with the size we had! And us gaugers are never satisfied! So we keep gauging! I said the same thing when I was at a zero tho! And look at me now. But just because someone has healthy lobes does not make them more knowledgable then the gauger with less healthy lobes! It just means the guy with the healthier lobes is a more patient person! One thing knowledge cant give....EXPERIENCE! Experience whether good or bad, is is a form of inteligence and the best type of knowledge! So going around telling people who have more "Experience" than you is probably contradicting! And what are you telling me that I don't know? I know my ears are thin! I know I'm pushing the envelope! But that's why they are thin! Because I am an impatient person that always pushes the envelope! I don't post for people to bash me! And don't tell me that this is a public forum and that I shouldn't post then. Yeah because that's an intelligent response lol dumb ass! Not calling you a dumb ass corazon_de_oro, but in general! But you are at a zero gauge, what are you telling me that I don't already know? And just because you learn from other people doesn't give you the experience! You know nothing about what it's like to have gauges over an inch! So please stop trolling the forum. Your all over every post and every section. Trying to school people that have been around the block already!
