I'm about sick of my parents close-mindedness. My mom thinks 14g is huge. Do I lie and go behind their backs, even though I'm not comfortable with it, or do I just stick out the couple more years I have at home? I'm at my wits end!

Bassplayer95, your ears being streched are not a good trade off for your parents relationship. Give it time and reason with them, if in time it you, as a family, can not come to an agreement then choose for yourself. Everything in good time, there is no rush.
On the other hand if its what you really want, though i have my doubts, do it and bold face suffer the consequences, if you have to hide it then you feel there's something wrong in what you're doing and shouldn't do it. just my opinion though...

I didn't get any piercings or stretch my ears until after I turned 18, and waiting really wasn't that hard. I guess I really didn't even start waiting them until I was close to 17, but still... If you think your parents will flip out and it will have an impact on your relationship, wait. If you think they can handle it if you do it anyway, go for it. They might not even notice.

I had the same problem, my mom wouldn't even listen to why I wanted to strecth my ears. All she said was "no im not having my kid look like a ubangi freak". So I went to the store bought the tapers and just did it. When I told her she was pissed but shes getting over it. I know it was wrong to go behind her back but it was worth it even though she calls me a freak and a circus side show. I figured it was ok because im a good kid with straight a's in school, im in honors classes, I finished freshman year with a 4.6 GPA. Im now at a 2G and going up to 1/2". And in three years im leaving anyway.

just wait, there's no rush in stretching; saves you a lot of stress if you go behind you parents backs. I did and it was hell, there's nothing they can do about it because the "damage" is done but it's not worth it if you've got parents who are anal about it.

Thanks guys. I think I'll wait until I move out or until my mom gets tired of my constant pestering and comes to her senses that this isn't a passing fad.

good for you man, it really does take courage to weigh out options and choose the one that seems like it goes against you.

I'm thinking maybe I should clarify something: I'm a girl, not a dude. Lol.

I waited till I was 18 to start getting body mods and the waiting didnt hurt me any lol .. in fact some of the stuff I may have wanted when I was in high school Im really glad I didnt get lol ...plus the longer you contemplate and wait for something the more you will love it and your parents will see that you waited ans still want it so they will know you arent doing it because its a fad or trend .. and most likely they will have more respect for your descision even if they still dont love your ears ....
