Possible damage?

I wish I had found this place sooner. Here is my predicament, I had my ears lobes pierced(16g) for the first time just about a month ago. When I asked the piercer for advice about stretching, he didn't offer anything useful or "correct." I was told I could stretch after about a week and wasn't opposed to skipping sizes whatsoever. Anyways with that being said and not nearly enough research done by myself other than it shouldn't hurt or bleed I decided to stretch to 10g after about two weeks when my ears in my opinion felt "healed." Yesterday I decided to try 8g, which went in surprisingly well, no pain and very little effort was needed. For some odd reason this sparked my curiosity on "correct stretching," so for the past couple hours I have been researching non stop only to find that I have done everything incorrectly thus far. I removed the 8g plugs I had in and switched back to my 16g jewelry after reading countless information about how I more than likely caused damage to my ears by not following proper procedure. I do plan to keep the 16g earrings in my ear at least the normal healing period for freshly pierced ears then if they are ready, I will start stretching again, this time without skipping sizes. I'm sorry for rambling here, a lot going through my mind, my real question is how much damage did I cause to my ears by stretching so quickly? Everything seemed fine but based on what I've read, even if it seems that way it isn't necessarily true. Any advice?

Thanks in advance. (also sorry for the long rambling paragraph :P )

Yikes, so sorry you had to figure it all out that way! But you've done everything right now

We cant tell you how much damage you have or havent done to your ears but the effects shouldnt be lasting if you baby em and stretch properly from now on :) just keep the 16g for about 6 months. if you can, taking out your plugs for a couple minutes once or twice a day to do massages will help to break down scar tissue. if they are too tender to do that right now then just keep your plugs in and do SSS once or twice a day to help them heal.

good luck!

Yes! All of this. Especially the SSS for now. : )

Oh, and please find another piercer. I love my piercer, if you're in the San Diego area. I go talk to him whenever I have one of my hair-brained ideas or some new piercing I want to get. He's awesome. If you find someone like that, keep them close and treat them well. They will do right by you. : D
