Pvc tape is it different than teflon tape?

HI there hope this does not sound stupid but are these tapes different? I am going from a 2 to a 0 gauge and tried the teflone tape but it kept sticking to my ears also tried the taper method but that is a big jump. I do not want to mess up my ears it took to long to get to this point (2 years) and I have healthy ear lobs so any response would be great

Hello,
I personally have not taped my ears, but from what I have heard and read pvc tape is exceptionally sticky to metal and plastic. Which would make me think it should be fine. I am not the wisest on this forum, but I am just trying to help as I see you question is unanswered.
Edit: Sticky is horrible for your ears pvc is different than teflon tape. sorry about the confusion
