Why cant I ever get double flare plugs in?
I am at a 2g and I have had relatively few problems stretching. But the last few sizes I have bought double flare plugs and I have never been able to get them in. I have been at my current size for over six months and when I try they simply dont fit. Am I doing something wrong? Any advice?

The first time I tried to use saddle plugs I failed miserably...
I was too scared.
You should never try sizing up with a double-flare, never. You're liable to rip your hole and end up with some far-flung and lasting consequences.
But, when you've been at your current size for about 2 months (variably) you should be able to pop a saddle plug in. The reason that I use the onomatopoeia 'pop' is because when you put a double-flared plug into your ear (at least as far as my experience goes) there's always a slight pop:
for me there's always been a bit of discomfort when you first put in a double from a single, it's normal (for me) to feel a good deal of resistance, a small pinch, and finally the sought-after pop of completion.
Honestly the best advice that I can give you is to just do it. Pop it in, if there's too much resistance, or pain, or if it plain and simply just won't go in then your ears are not ready. The best temper against hurting yourself is experience. It's a double-edged sword. It's hard to phrase but I've given the best account and warnings I can. From here it's all on you.
I apologize for the rambling and verbose nature of my post... I'm pretty intoxicated and I tend to speak like this when I am.

Re: Why cant I ever get double flare plugs in?
I have the same issue with double flares so I will wait probably about 2 to 3 months until I buy some for now sticking to single and no flares, my lobes are tempermental sometimes and since I have only been at a 0 for like almost 3 weeks, I feel that even if it my be a really extended wait for double flares, I feel like its the right amount of time for me.....

I only have problems with wood plugs, but I just use some jojoba oil to help lube em up(so try some lubricant)....

I always just massage them with evoo for a little bit to get them good and soft. My ears are also like Mr. Fantastic stretchy, though.
