sizing up. can i do it with the piercing i have?

I got my ears pierced at OOg and I've heard I cant size up. I wanna be able to go to a half inch should I size down then stretch up or can I stretch from 00s or will my ear be to thin

I know nothing on the topic of the question, all i have to say getting your ears punched at that size is going to cause you so much healing problems and, risk of infection, how did they turn out? (My piercer hardly ever pierces anyone past 12g because of the possible implications.)
